He made his first website where he used to sell licensed plate. He made few money with that website. Ben Francis incorporated Gymshark in 2012 with his friend lewis morgan. While doing so Ben was also studying at the Aston University and after university he was also delivering pizza. Anytime in between them he used to work on Gymshark. In the beginning Ben Francis and his friend used to sew clothes and brand merchandise by themselves. Everything back then was custom made. They used to put hour and hours in designing and sewing the merchandise. This was the most manual time for Gymshark.
THE BIG BREAK FOR GYMSHARK-
Ben Francis and team was putting real effort on moving Gymshark forward. But Ben wanted to make huge impact with his company. The big time and idea for Gymshark came from the Bodypower expo which is the fitness expo. He decided to bring Gymshark to Bodypower expo and in procedure to do so he almost empted his bank account to get space at Bodypower for next year. For next year and in the mean time they work very hard to build the brand name and non stop custom making products.
INFLUENCER MARKETING-KEY FACTOR TO GYMSHARK’S GROWTH
Gymshark back in the days came with an awesome idea, today known as Influencer marketing . So Gymshark decided to send their free merchandise to the influencer in fitness industry with good following on social media platforms. In return Gymshark just wanted them to promote their product on their social media platforms. Adding to it their presence in Bodypower and inviting famous athletes on their booth helped gymshark to get exposure on day 1 of bodypower. They were surprised the next day when so much crowd just rushed into their booth. This was the turning point of Gymshark. After gaining huge exposure at bodypower , sales on the website just skyrocketed. Everytime they put some new product on the website they find it difficult to manage and handle orders from customers. They went from just being online business to something BIG.

Recently Gymshark has now grown very big as a brand in the world. Ben Francis knew if he want to make Gymshark big he has to setup up properly business back end and creativity. Setting up physical stores at physical locations. They now have become an international business seeting up things from different part of Europe. As of future Gymshark plans to expand overseas sales . Already 40% of the sales comes from US. It aims to have 25 international country specific online stores by 2020 up from 11 at present. Now Ben Francis is now a Chief Brand Officer at his company . He left the CEO position because he said he wants to focus on things he’s really good at.Still keep checks on company major decisions. His responsibilities is mainly to focus on product, designs , marketing, and conducting events for the company.

Gymshark has sky-boosted their sales in recent years due to their Influencers brand ambassadors because they knew one thing. That is the influencers gives the reason to shoppers to buy into gymshark over the other brands. After two years of Gymshark generated annual revenue of impressive €250,000. Ben quit both university and pizza delivery work to focus on the company. Gymshark in 2017 finished with €1.5 million in pre tax and with €12.8 million in revenue with International sales of €12.8 million .Today Gymshark expect the turnover of €100 million.
